What if...?

“Being a princess isn’t all it's cracked up to be.” Princess Diana
What if…you were the ruler of your very own kingdom? There would be no yellow brick road in my kingdom; the streets would be paved in pink glitter that would sparkle under the suns rays. Currency would not consist of dollars or cents, but rather rainbow-swirled lollipops of varying sizes. Pristine white ponies with curling pink ribbons in their manes would trot unbridled through the streets. Stacks of fairytales would sit beneath each oversized cherry blossom tree, awaiting the arrival of a reader looking to lose themselves in another world. Wink’s Andrea Dress would be my uniform of choice. Come nightfall, everyone within the kingdom would fall asleep under ribbon-trimmed canopies, amidst whispers and the subtle twinkle of fireflies lighting up the night sky. What would your kingdom be like, kitty cats? How would it look? What types of creatures would one find there? What would your daily attire be? I promise I won’t tell a soul! Fashionably yours! Thanks to We ♥ It for the picture. Don't forget to enter the Runaway with Meg Cabot and Urban Outfitters Giveaway for your chance to win Meg Cabot’s Airhead Trilogy and a $50 Gift Certificate from Urban Outfitters.

My kingdom would be pure joy and happiness! No pain, no disease, no war...
Lots of delicious food to eat without any weight gain...
Not as good as your magical world but I do wish for a Kingdom of no worries ever...xo

I know my answer... my kingdom would be fully air-conditioned... even the streets and every breathing space there is. The cars will not emit smoke, air pollution is a thing of the past. No flooded streets and no traffic jams. My people will all be equal... no rich or poor. Everybody will be dressed in Victorian-inspired outfits, including me. But of course, I am the only one who can wear a crown.

And everybody is smiling... no sad and angry faces are allowed in my kingdom.

Happy Sunday Erika! xoxo

I would forget social norms in terms of dress. I'd wear whatever I wanted, and then some.

And lets not forget that they'd be no war or 3rd world poverty.

And of course, free cupcakes for everyone.

p.s. check out my blog...I'm doing a lil giveaway...

My dear, your kingdom sounds positively beautiful. I love the glitter-paved streets. Mine would involve magical desserts that could be eaten all day without the feaster gaining weight, houses built of designer shoes that replace themselves when you take out a pair to wear for the evening, and sunshine much of the time.

I think I need to come visit you in your kingdom. My kingdom since it's imaginary would just be an improved version. No pot holes on roads, trains would always be on time. Rainbows and sun showers with polkadot the sky. Shooting stars would be missed by fewer people and time would be spent on lush grass staring up at the balmy summer nights sky. I dont know is that more simple or more impossible or just boring

Books and libraries and time for reading fabulous stories...weeping willow trees by tranquil waters, stars and fireflies sharing the common goal of lighting the night sky with magic, candles and incense and soft breezes, white flowy gowns that would make Galadriel swoon with envy...paper lanterns hung from trees down a forest path...

I love the sound of your kingdom! I never thought about it, but all I can say for now is that my kingdom would involve a lot of pretty shoes and cupcakes ;-)

That Diana quote is so sad though (but unfortunately true). I just wish she could have had a real fairytale princess life like she deserved.

Imagining myself having a kingdom...I can hardly get over my excitement! What am I going to wear?!?!? :)

If I live in a kingdom I would prefer to be that lady living far up in the hill, writing a book in front of the fire, with a dog and cats, while my hubby's taking photos of me. But I hate to bow on rulers, so I think I have to hide when they;re passing by. :)

I want to live in your kingdom! It sounds so delightful!

My kingdom...well, flowers would be blooming all year round, and the air would be filled with the flower's scents. And there would be farmers' markets all year round too. Even in the north during the cold, chilly months. There would be a kitten for every household, and they'd be coddled and cuddled and craddled; and they could be outside cats if they wanted because they won't have to worry about fleas or vicious dogs that would chase them up and down streets or cars (because there would be several "cat crosswalks" all about town). In every city there would be castles. But these castles are only used for libraries, and maybe in the basement of the library people could purchase a cappucino or maybe a smoothie.
AND! We'd still get milk delivered to us in bottles every morning. And because the milkman is so nice, he'd give each household a small batch of cookies with their milk on Monday mornings.
=D

My kingdom would look something like this.

http://www.20somethingcupcakes.com/2010/04/moroccan-palace/

And one of the pools might be filled with champagne. Just sayin'.

Meream said...

Oh! My answer is in a real journal somewhere. I used to write stories of being a princess and having my own kingdom. Haha. So embarrassing.

Vanessa said...

It would be a place of happiness and filled with all the people I love and adore. I'm pretty sure it would live like a musical, busting out is dance and song. Love it!

Samantha said...

Oh, you should never have asked!

I've had a story.. since I was little, about being queen (thus my URL - as we once discussed).. And I wasn't a *good* queen in my dreams. Not that if given the chance in real life I would be bad.. but once in a while one does dream of being the bad guy in your imagination.

Of course, you never feel good about the thoughts, and you're always alone because evil people don't have a heart for love and are too "tough" to be swept off their feet.
